The
average Internet search engine can locate vast amounts of information
on various subjects but what if you actually want to locate a
video file, or clips from films, television shows, movies, advertising,
museums and other institutions that are increasingly making streaming
video available on the Internet? Video Indexing companies are
compiling this information. According to Raymond James & Associates
it is expected that while Video Indexing Software and Services
rang up sales of less than $30 million in 1999 that those sales
will grow to between $720 million to as much as $2.4 billion in
2002. Three companies currently are leaders in the Video Indexing
Field; they are Convera (CNVR), Eloquent (ELOQ), and Virage (VRGE).
